Thanks Rob! New laptop allows for better video edits, this machine is super fast so it works much better, nothing is laggy and slow! My next step to learn will be color corrections. I love that guitar! Ha! The garbage can is elevated because our cat is an asshat all night if she has access to it. She licks and shreds the bag and it's noisy and annoying 🤣. It also disturbs Birbo in her beauty sleep when that happens, her cage is in this room. 🦜

Haha! That weird smell, and also a bit of metallic residue on the fingers when they are fresh. I generally change them when they start to feel a little dull, less bouncy. Hard to explain, but I know when it's time... It's a feeling type of thing. I also use 10-52's from Ernie Ball, I get the cobalts if I feel fancy, but never really felt or heard an audible difference. I play at least 3 to 4 times a week most of the time. Sometimes everyday. I switch from one guitar to the other. I usually restring my 2 main guitars at the same time, or during the same week as I always buy my sets in pairs (2, 4, 6, etc.) I'd say if I play everyday it could be a month or a month and a half, if I play less I could stretch it out to 3 months probably. If i'm just lazy I can even go as far as 5 months or even more. Sometime I get hooked on one of my main guitars for a while, like I am now on my new Jackson Soloist, same as Rob but a different color.

Man that's looking great so far! On some models the teardrop headstock looks great and I think it's a good fit for your design indeed. I don't know what the turn around is on custom ESPs but I know how the waiting feels! I had to wait a whole 10 months when I pre ordered my Ormsby back in 2018. Pulled the trigger in feb. and it landed in dec. The wait is painful sometimes, but it is so worth it once it lands in your lap and it's even better than what you expected! It was sure the case for my Ormsby! It's a 'magical' instrument. It's incredibly stable with the proper setup. My only complaint might be the jack input that is located exactly where one of the stap pins is usually located. The strap pin is about 2 inches higher, and the other one is on the upper horn. I wasn't playing in the classical position when I ordered it, maybe that's why I didn't bother the jack input placement. But now I do! I have no clue why they did that. 😆 Anyway, I sure hope you get to rip it on your custom ESP sooner than later! Cheers! 🍻

I feel you man! If you ever consider letting one of them go for about 1k € let me know! 😆 That's about 1.5k CAD$ which is about what I'd be willing to spend on an RA-600 and seems to be in the ball park of what they go for around here when they pop up on the market.

Woah!! Well, that's great! Is that floyd painted or it's a replacement that's black? (and which Floyd is it, if replaced)? I would be in for the original looks as much as possible. Thanks Sam! It's actually 2 slightly different tones, panned left and right. double tracked on each side. Funniest thing is they both kinda sound like shit when isolated and not double tracked! 🤣 But the mix works it's magic with top quality bass and drums, so the rest sits right in place in the frequency spectrum. Haha, thanks Rob! I did spot a couple mistakes though after the fact. I might have misread the tab or went over it too quickly but it doesn't matter much, it's all in good fun. Yes the guitar turned out to be awesome after all, and I had never really took the time to play and learn anything on a 7 string so it was the perfect occasion to work on my chops. 😜

Yooo! I just stumbled upon this as I was doing my occasional visit. You nailed it Cal!! Awesome to see our song transcription work with Rob being put to such good use and attention to detail! 🤘 If I may offer a cheap but great option for an interface (in my humble opinion), I personally have a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, which I got used for less than $100. I think they don't make this exact model anymore but surely something similar and still under $300 brand new for sure. I've been running that with Cubase (but any DAW will do, it's just a matter of getting used to it). I also use amp sims. I've been running on this setup since 2017. It never gave up on me, other than by my mistakes, every now and then haha! 🤘🎸

@robarnoldworld Oh yeah! I was really into Forza back in the days. I believe it was forza 2 and/or 3 that I played the most. The simulation is so good in the recent ones, it's crazy!

@robarnoldworld I did break a tiny bone in my wrist one time. It took a screw to fix it and it took yeaaaars to gain my mobility back completely. I can totally understand you stopped skating for security reasons and I'm glad you did in a way, haha! 🤘🎸 Some day if my pockets are deep enough, I will get myself another tire slayer (drift car).
