Hey guys! I recently received a suggestion to create a place here on the forum where those interested, could introduce themselves and get to know one another! I mean, we all obviously have a lot in common, so it sounded like a great idea to me! Perhaps some cool connections can be made between like minded individuals looking to talk gear, or Chimaira, or riffs, concert experiences, bands to check out, etc, etc. etc! Maybe you've got some cool guitars to show off, or a memorabilia collection, or want to let other members know you're offering guitar lessons, or production advice, or stock tips! haha... whatever! You may never know what interests you may share, or what collaborations could be made, or what a person has to offer, or what you could learn, or perhaps how another member may be able to help with an issue you may be experiencing... without expressing yourself in some way! This may be a great place to initiate those connections, or it may simply be a place to quietly browse out of curiosity or boredom. The choice is yours, and like everything I suggest, there's never any pressure! Oh and by the way, my name's Rob, and I like music, metal, guitars, cooking, creating things, and movies. Just have some fun with it!🎵 When I originally wrote the song, it was a bit longer than what you heard in the video. I believe there's an extra verse and maybe an extra pre chorus. This is because for the performance in the video, I decided to shorten it a bit so it wouldn't get boring. The song was written with the intention of eventually having vocals, and a guitar solo, etc., and so it has a typical song format arrangement. (intro, verse, pre chorus, chorus, repeat, bridge, outro, etc). Anyway, that's why you'll notice these files are a little longer than what you heard in the video. Right now guys, I am absolutely addicted to Opeth. I listen to Pale Communion, their 2014 release, every single day. It's the best to put on in the background while you're doing other things. And now for the past week or so, I've been listening to their latest release, In Cauda Venenum everyday as well. At first I wrote In Cauda Venenum off. I wasn't feeling it. But it's grown on me tremendously. The song writing, the riffing, the soloing, the emotions... it's all incredible. Their second to last release, from 2016, called Sorceress, is also growing on me quickly. Amazing stuff! I know that Opeth is hot topic of debate. Many folks hate their newer stuff, and only swear by the old stuff. But to me it's like all bands, and when you get into them. I got into Opeth in the Watershed era, and then discovered Ghost Reveries, which is actually my favorite record of theirs. But anything before that, just doesn't do it for me like the newer stuff. Many will think I'm crazy for saying that, but hey, to each their own! I even love Heritage! 😝🤘 So bring it on guys! What's your Opeth best of??
